Chef Lee's extraordinarily delicious turkey at Le Meridien

To save you, our dear reader, time and effort searching for the best Thanksgiving dinners the island has to offer this year, I have put together a quick list (in no particular order) of the best Thanksgiving dinners and deals around town. So loosen up your belts and dig in!

Le Meridien’s Latest Recipe

The above picture pretty much says it all. I have never in my life tasted a turkey so delicious, so juicy, so incredible as I did this last Saturday when Chef Lee invited me for a preview tasting of his pork sausage stuffed turkey.

Chef Lee began by telling me that back when he owned his restaurant in Taipei, his turkey became so famous throughout the city that he was forced to sleep in his restaurant all during Thanksgiving week and churn out over 50 turkeys with only two ovens! The demand was so great that he also had to hire taxi drivers to deliver these prize birds to hungry foodies all over town. As soon as I tasted this bird, I knew exactly why.

Being an American from the Midwest region, I was always used to the family bird being stuffed inside with toast, celery, onion and whatever else my Mom and Aunt were adding to the mix. Chef Lee, to borrow an overused Emeril Lagasse catchphrase, really kicked it up a notch by stuffing freshly made pork sausage in between the skin at the breast of the turkey as opposed to the traditional method. The result being an incredibly flavorful, juicy fowl sure to please even the most discerning of turkey connoisseurs.

In addition to the turkey, Latest Recipe is also serving up all the traditional fixin’s we have come to know and love. Freshly made cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, mashed potatoes and whatever else you can think of, all for the standard Latest Recipe buffet price of RMB 198 plus 15% service charge Sundays through Thursdays or RMB 238 plus 15% service charge Fridays and Saturdays.

Also, be sure not to miss the open-faced turkey sandwiches Chef Lee prepares. Literally out of this world. Latest Recipe will be serving up these scrumptious turkey dinners all the way up to Christmas Day. For more information or to make a reservation, please call: 0592-7709179 or 0592-7709178
